The Reliability Conference 2026 Recap: Maintenance and Reliability Conversations from San Francisco

Maintenance and reliability professionals gathered at The Reliability Conference 2026 to discuss downtime reduction, inspections, asset visibility, and maintenance planning.

Our team attended the two-day event at Tabletop #30 to connect with industry professionals, showcase MAINTelligence™, and hear firsthand how organizations across industries are approaching reliability challenges today.

Day 1 at The Reliability Conference 2026, San Francisco

The first morning started quieter than expected, which quickly turned into jokes at the booth about increasingly creative ways to hand out business cards before the crowd picked up later in the morning. Compared to last year’s Seattle conference, this year’s event had a more relaxed pace that gave people more time to stop, chat, and have meaningful conversations instead of quick introductions between sessions.

We really noticed how much broader the attendee mix was this year. Alongside industrial operations, we spoke with professionals from wastewater treatment, utilities, landfills, healthcare facilities, and other sectors dealing with many of the same maintenance and equipment challenges.

Teams we spoke with were looking for better visibility into maintenance operations, inspections, and reliability data without making workflows harder for the people managing them every day. Those conversations naturally led to discussions about the DMSI Reliability Package and how organizations can begin improving reliability processes in ways that feel practical and manageable for their teams.

The conference floor had a unique rhythm throughout the day, especially with the event’s format centred around three main industry keynote sessions. As those presentations and technical talks wrapped up, waves of attendees would suddenly pour back onto the trade show floor, bringing a noticeable surge of energy and conversation around the booth each time.

Day 2 at The Reliability Conference 2026, San Francisco

Day two started early again, and the conference floor picked up quickly as attendees returned for another full day of sessions and conversations.

The keynote presentation from Dave Lockhart, Executive Director for Facilities Operations and Maintenance at Kaiser Permanente, focused on the importance of the asset management industry and how reliability practices directly support safety when implemented properly. He delivered a passionate reminder that maintenance and reliability work go far beyond equipment tracking and reporting. Strong reliability practices help prevent larger failures, protect infrastructure, and support safer operations overall.

Many of the conversations from day one continued into the second day, especially around maintenance visibility, inspections, downtime reduction, and the challenge of organizing reliability data in a way that maintenance teams can realistically manage.

Sam Wasserman, Sr. Reliability Engineer at Xcel Energy, a major hydroelectric dam site in Colorado, told us about his growing need for centralized systems to organize inspections, workflows, and reliability data without overwhelming maintenance teams.  Introducing him to the MAINTelligence™ dashboard capabilities and how WorkMT™ simplifies inspection management and workflow organization was a natural solution.

Throughout the event, we also had the chance to talk with attendees about some of the work we’ve been doing around VibeMT™, an upcoming addition to MAINTelligence™ that’s currently in development. Sharing a bit about where things are headed next for DMSI added another layer of excitement to the event for our team.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by Tabletop #30 to connect with our team during the conference. We’re looking forward to following up with you over the next few weeks! We’re so glad we were able to attend, even with the annoying flight delay in San Francisco!

If you missed us at The Reliability Conference 2026, we’ll be attending more industry events throughout the year. You can also book a demo with our team to learn more about how MAINTelligence™, WorkMT™, and InspectMT™ support maintenance and reliability teams.
